Liverpool transfer round
Liverpool are determined to fend off interest in Mohamed Salah amid reports of a massive offer from Saudi Arabia, but the Reds have reportedly selected a possible replacement
Liverpool are riding high on the back of their stunning comeback win over Newcastle in the Premier League on Sunday, but that feel-good factor might not last.
Darwin Nunez came off the bench to score twice and earn the 10 men an unlikely victory at St James’ Park, yet the man who delivered the decisive final assist might not be around to provide many more, if reports are to be believed.
Mohamed Salah is going nowhere, according to Jurgen Klopp, who has rubbished the suggestion Liverpool might cash in on their star player this late in the summer transfer window. But with the Saudi Arabian transfer window open until September 20, the rumours will continue to swirl.
Here Mirror Football takes a look at the latest reports concerning the Reds and Salah.
Reports linking Salah with Saudi Arabia have refused to die down, in spite of Klopp’s continued rejection of their validity.
Liverpool sold Jordan Henderson and Fabinho to clubs in the Middle Eastern country. Could they do the same with Salah? CBS Sports reports that Al-Ittihad are not backing down and are pushing to land the Egyptian.
They are reportedly willing to offer Liverpool €150m (£130m) for Salah, which would be made up of €100m (£89m) of guaranteed cash and substantial add-ons. Not only that, they are to offer Salah a contract worth around £170m per season.

If that £130m bid does arrive in the coming days, Liverpool may have to reassess their firm no-sale stance over Salah. If they do sell, then a replacement is an absolute must.
Portuguese newspaper A Bola says Liverpool would be ‘willing’ to reinvest £60m to £68m of the money they receive for Salah on Joao Felix, who is looking for a way out of Atletico Madrid.
Atletico president Enrique Cerezo admitted recently that the 23-year-old does not want to play for the Spanish side. Atleti’s record £111m signing has 34 goals and 18 assists in La Liga since 2019 and spent the second half of last season on loan with Chelsea.

Away from Salah, the subject of Ryan Gravenberch has gripped Liverpool fans of late.
The Dutchman has struggled for game time at Bayern Munich and has been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United all summer.
The rumours have continued and Gravenberch is unclear what will happen before the window closes this week, saying: “I don‘t know what will happen in the next days.”
Mirror Football have previously revealed that Liverpool had reached an agreement with Gravenberch over personal terms, so he may well be keen on a move.
